Travel stoRy #41 – Jasna Góra in Częstochowa (Poland)
Travel stoRy on Tuesday takes you today to southern Poland, in the city of Częstochowa, home of the Jasna Góra Monastery, the famous pilgrimage place and the spiritual capital of the country.
The Monastery was opened in 1382 and nowadays its site is considered a historic monument in Poland. It’s considered that more than 100.000 pilgrims come to the shire every year in the beginning of the autumn.
Also, Jasna Góra attracts pilgrims for decades especially for its Black Madonna of Częstochowa or Our Lady of Częstochowa, an icon of the Virgin Mary, which is believed to be responsible for various miracles.
