Planning the New Year’s Eve in Stockholm
As 2016 is coming to an end, we continue our series of seasonal tips which will make your stay in Stockholm even better! If in the past we talked about the Christmas events in the Old Town and decorations across the city, today we are presenting you some spots where you can celebrate the New Year’s Eve in the Swedish capital.
First of all, there are the fantastic observations points where you can get a great view of the fireworks in town – absolutely for free! We’ve been checking them out in the past and we can recommend: Skinnarviksberget, Monteliusvägen and Fjällgatan. Note: arrive in good time! It could get crowded as midnight approaches.
Second, for only 170 SEK you can enjoy the celebrations at the famous open-air museum of Skansen. The celebration it’s nowadays a tradition which goes back all the way to the late nineteenth century. The tickets can be bought online and you should arrive around 22.30. As usual, the show will be live on SVT from 23.20. More information is available here.
Finally, if none of these options suit you, you can just check out the bars and clubs in Östermalm or Södermlam. Stockholm is famous for its nightlife and surely there is something out there for you to enjoy during this special night between the years.
Whatever you choose to do for the New Year’s Eve, we, at stoRy touRs, wish you a Happy New Year and we are looking forward to seeing you again in 2017, online or offline in one of our tours! Be a part of the stoRy!
